Rapid Release® Lithium-Ion Battery Pack – Important Safety Information
Read and follow these instructions carefully to prevent fire, explosion, injury, or property damage.
Handling & Use
- Inspect the battery pack before each use. Do not use if damaged, swollen, leaking, dented, punctured, or showing unusual odor, heat, discoloration, or sounds.
- Handle with care — avoid drops, impacts, crushing, or puncturing.
- Do not disassemble, modify, short-circuit terminals, or expose to water or liquids.
- Keep away from children and pets.
- Use only in approved devices designed for this battery pack.
Charging
- Use only the manufacturer-provided or compatible charger specified for this battery pack.
- Charge in a well-ventilated area on a hard, non-flammable surface (e.g., table or counter). Never charge on beds, couches, pillows, or under flammable materials — this can cause overheating and fire.
- Never leave charging unattended. Monitor during charging.
- Do not overcharge or leave connected to the charger after fully charged. Unplug promptly when complete — overcharging can lead to overheating, thermal runaway, fire, or explosion.
- Never charge a damaged battery or use a damaged charger — this significantly increases risk of fire or explosion.
- Charge at room temperature (ideally 15–25°C / 59–77°F). Do not charge in extreme heat (>40°C/104°F) or cold (<0°C/32°F) — this can damage the battery and create hazards.
- Stop charging immediately if the battery becomes hot, emits odor, swells, or behaves abnormally — disconnect and move to a safe area.
Discharging / Use
- Do not over-discharge (fully drain to 0% repeatedly) — this can permanently damage cells and reduce safety.
- Avoid prolonged high-drain use that causes excessive heating.
- Stop use immediately if the battery overheats, swells, or shows other warning signs.
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and flammable materials.
- For long-term storage, charge to approximately 50% and check/recharge every 3–6 months.
- Do not store fully charged or fully discharged for extended periods — this can degrade safety and performance.
Key Hazards of Improper Use
- Overcharging, leaving in charger too long, or using incompatible chargers → Overheating, thermal runaway, fire, or explosion.
- Overheating from damage, extreme temperatures, or misuse → Rapid fire spread, toxic smoke, burns, or explosion.
- Physical damage or short-circuiting → Immediate fire or explosion risk.
What to Do in Case of a Problem
- If the battery overheats, smokes, or catches fire: Evacuate the area, use a Class D or ABC fire extinguisher if safe (or water for small fires in an open area), and call emergency services.
- Dispose of damaged batteries properly — do not trash; recycle at designated facilities.
Follow all local regulations. Your safety is our priority — misuse voids warranty and increases risks.
